Some Fun Halloween Inspired Ideas

Ideas Shared with me by My Pampered Chef Lady

Make your own "Gummy Worms " -- The Apple/Slicer/Peeler/Corer (ASPC) not only helps you get pies ready in a pinch, but, it can help you make healthier Gummy Worms for you and your kids. Take the peels from the ASPC, placing them in a Ziploc bag with your favorite flavor of dry Jell-O mix. Make sure the peels are still moist when putting them into the bag. Shake bag to cover peels. Once well-coated, place them on a flat Stone and bake for 25-30 minutes. There's no sugar in this recipe and lots of nutrition (and fiber) in the peels!

Let your Pumpkin do double-duty! Sprinkle our Cinnamon Plus Spice Blend inside your pumpkin. When you light the candle, it will smell like Pumpkin Pie! What a great air freshener idea!

Use your leftover Candy Wisely -- Need quick muffin, cookie or cake ingredients? Take remaining candy leftover from Halloween and chop with the Food Chopper. Freeze in Snack Baggies. When ready to put in cookies or serve on top of ice cream, just take them out of the freezer and add to your mix!

Tea Bag Folding Tutorial

During this tutorial we will make a tea folded Christmas Tree to be used on a card front or Scrapbook page or other paper crafting item.

Supplies Needed:
  • 4 pieces of Background & Texture paper cut into squares of the following sizes: 3", 2.5", 2" & 1.5"
  • Bone Folder if you wish (optional)
  • Something to adhere to
  • Adhesive
Step One: Fold all pieces in half on the diagonal, unfold and then fold again in the other diagonal direction and unfold again.

Step Two: Unfold and then fold again in the other diagonal direction and unfold again. This is what you now have. A tent of sorts.

Step Three: Making a point at the center of your B&T paper and smoosh it in to create a near star, as shown in this picture.
Step Four: Bring the folded edges together pushing in the unfolded side edges and press flat.

This is what you should now have for all four size squares.

Step Five: Pull one of the corners up and fold to the inside.Step Six: Pull the second corner up and meet the first at midpoint and fold it in as well. Now do this with all the squares.

Step Seven: Now working with the largest piece and from the bottom to the top of your tree slip the second largest piece onto the first largest piece and so forth. What you end up with is a Christmas Tree. Now you can move the pieces up and down to adjust your tree size. Play with it a bit and then adhere to your project.

Sure has been quite around here

Is everyone on vacation or just busy with life? Are you enjoying the tutorials? Do we need to do another blog candy challenge? What would you like to see me add? What tutorials would you like to see?

I've been working on a few paper folding tutorials. One I just included in my Newsletter and the second I will include here. Both were surprisingly easy and fun. I included Iris Folding in my newsletter and I will post this week the final card from that tutorial. I will also be including a tutorial on a technique called tea bag folding.

Share with me what you all have been working on.
