You Are Our Sunshine

Here is a layout I did for my customer newsletter.

I added some non-CTMH embellishments as well on this final version.
This photo is of my daughter when she was nearly 2 years old. Today she is nearly 12.
Here are some great family time projects

Fire Cracker Crowns
These fringed caps make for a fun way to sport your patriotic colors on the 4th of July.

CRAFT MATERIALS: - Craft foam, red and white - Blue tape (1 1/2" wide) - Star stickers - Scissors - Gold pipe cleaners - Tape - Yellow foam stars

1. Arrange 5 red and 5 white 2 1/2" by 12" craft foam strips side by side, alternating colors. Apply a 26" strip of blue tape across the panels about 1 inch from the bottom, wrapping the ends around to the back. Decorate the tape with sticker stars. Then cut a 1/2" fringe in each panel starting from the top and ending just above the tape.

2. Flip crown over and position a gold pipe cleaner in the center of each of the inner 8 panels so that the lower end is about an inch below the fringe. Tape them in place. Now sandwich the top of each pipe cleaner between a yellow foam star and a large sticker star. When your child is ready to wear the crown, wrap it around her head, overlapping the ends and securing them with a large paper clip.

Independence Day Pops

Keep your kids cool this 4th of July with frozen-yogurt rocket pops.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS: - 3 cups vanilla yogurt - Red food coloring - Blue food coloring - Waxed paper - Sugar cones - Popsicle sticks
1. To make a half dozen pops, tint 1/2 cup of the yogurt with red food coloring and 1 1/2 cups with blue food coloring. Leave the rest plain.
2. Make waxed paper cone liners by folding six 12-inch square sheets into triangles, wrapping each around a sugar cone, and using tape to hold the shape. Then place the paper cones inside the sugar cones.
3. Fill each cone with 1 tablespoon red yogurt, followed by 2 tablespoons white yogurt, then 3 tablespoons blue yogurt. Insert a Popsicle stick and freeze the pops until firm, about 4 hours, using the cone box to keep them upright.

Today I've been cleaning my craft space...and I found some old photo's. I decided to once again try a digital page using one of the more precious photo's I found. Again the tags are some I found for free on the Two Peas website. Let me know what you think...and if you know of anywhere I can get these printed at the 12x12 size please let me know as I'd like to get these into actual albums.

Great American Scrapbook Convention Class Pages

Here is the first page from my Heritage Class. However, I didn't use it for Heritage pictures. It just spoke LOVE to me.

Tag - I'm It

OK - I have just been tagged by Adeline Brill

The Rules: So this is how it works.
I must post the rules, 7 random things about me and then tag others to do the same.
Sound fair enough, right?
These are the rules….
  1. Each player starts with 7 random facts about themselves on their Blog.
  2. People who are tagged need to blog 7 facts about themselves and post the rules as well.
  3. At the end of their blog list 7 people you are tagging.
  4. Let them know that they are tagged by leaving them a comment.

7 Random Things About Me

#1 - I am ADDICTED to Diet Coke

#2- I don't dye my hair...any longer...but my picture on my website(s) and blog show me with dyed hair. ;)

#3 - I love the "Moldie Oldies"as my friend Denise would say. Such as Billie Holiday, Ertha Kit, Nina Simone, Linda Lewis...just to name a few.

#4 - My husband proposed to me at my friends house at 3am in the morning.

#5 - I've had to learn how to cook Gluten Free for my son.

#6 - I have a bounty of animals - One dog; Lily, two cats; Joy Joy & Adelaide, a African water frog; Silly, a algae eater; Simon and always 7 or so "Snacks" in the tank.

#7 - After trying for 6 years to get pregnant the second time (via fertility methods) I gave up and 6 months later got pregnant with my now 4 year old son by traditional methods. Sometimes you have to turn things over to GOD.

Who do I tag now?

Deborah, Emily & Heidi

Digital Scrapbooking

Ok, well here is my first attempt at digital scrapbooking. I found that you could get a 30 day trial of Photo Shop. Now, please note that I haven't used Photo Shop since the late '80's so I was figuring that it would literally take me forever to figure it out.

My webfriend Adeline Brill turned me onto some FREE Digital Scrapbooking "TAG's" at the Two Peas website. So using one of those I set out to do a basic layout. Including learning curve it only took me 20 min to create this page. However, it took me another 20 min to figure out how to save it...and still be able to attache it to emails etc.

The young lady is my daughter Batya. It was taken last year when she was 10 years old.
